Albatros Makadi Resort

Albatros Makadi Resort is a new 5-star all-inclusive resort that opened in 2025 in Makadi Bay, about 35 km south of Hurghada. It spreads across 430,000 m² of grounds along a 900 m private sandy beach.

Its standouts are big rooms (Deluxe rooms are 53 m², and Splash and Family Connecting rooms over 100 m²), a 365 m pontoon out to a house reef for snorkelling, an aqua park with 16 slides and a 3,000 m² adults-only spa. It is a strong fit for families who want space and a quieter bay than central Hurghada.

Rooms

Deluxe Rooms (53 m²) come with pool, sea or beach-front views. Family Connecting Rooms (106 m²) and Splash Rooms (103 m²) each have two bedrooms and two bathrooms, and Splash Rooms have a large balcony facing the aqua park. Rooms have a minibar with water and soft drinks on arrival, and nine accessible rooms are available.

Restaurants and bars

Restaurants include Sidi Ali (oriental), Alfredo (Italian), Culina, East & West and Paella, plus a steak house once a week by reservation, two food courts, a bakery and an ice-cream corner. Bars include the Lobby Bar, a pool bar, the Andiamo beach bar and the Galaxy lounge and disco.

Beach, pools and spa

The 900 m private beach has a 365 m pontoon to a house reef, plus a calm man-made seawater lagoon with free catamarans. There are 20 pools (some heated) and an aqua park with 16 slides. The 3,000 m² adults-only spa has a sauna, jacuzzi, Turkish bath and steam room, with paid treatments.

Fly into Hurghada International Airport (HRG). Resort transfers are typically 15 to 45 minutes depending on the area. Cairo is the main alternative gateway for longer itineraries.

Best time to visit: Hurghada is sunny almost all year. March–May and September–November balance warm days with a comfortable sea. Winter is mild with cooler evenings. Summer is hot, but the sea is at its warmest.
