Pickalbatros Dana Beach Resort is a 5-star all-inclusive resort on the Villages Road in Hurghada, about 15 minutes from Hurghada International Airport. Open since 2004, it is one of the city's biggest resorts: 866 rooms on 181,000 m², with a natural lagoon running from reception down to the sea.

Guests reach the sandy beach on landscaped paths or by boat across the lagoon, and the shallow lagoon entry is gentle enough for small children. With an aqua park, a heated indoor children's pool, a free kids club and restaurants from Italian to German and oriental, it is built for family holidays.

Rooms, suites and villas

Rooms range from garden, pool and lagoon-view rooms to sea-view superior rooms, two-room family rooms, sea-view suites with a separate living area and sea-view luxury villas (120 m²). Buildings have two to four floors with lifts, and four accessible rooms can be requested.

Restaurants and bars

Restaurants include Castello (Italian), Kaiserblick (German), Sidi Ali (oriental), East & West, Alfredo, Culina and a beach restaurant, with a Sweet Home bakery. Bars include a piano bar, a sports bar, a jacuzzi pool bar, Columbus Café and the Mauve Bar for evening entertainment.

Lagoon, beach and pools

The sandy beach is about 160 m long with a 150 m pontoon, and the natural lagoon has a gentle sandy entry suitable for children. There are three adult pools and four children's pools (several heated in winter), a heated indoor children's pool with slides, and an aqua park being upgraded with 14 adult slides for 2026.

Kids, sport and spa

The free Alba Kids Club takes children aged 4 to 12, with its own indoor pool and a playground. The gym, beach volleyball, table tennis and mini-golf are free; tennis, padel and the diving centre are paid. The adults-only spa offers paid massages and a sauna.

Good to know before you book

  • Children: the first child under 12 stays free and a second child aged 2–11 pays half the adult rate; in a family room both children under 12 stay free. Bring birth certificates to check-in; guests aged 12 and over count as adults.
  • Egyptians and residents can book a special room rate. A valid Egyptian ID, Egyptian passport or residency must be shown at check-in, or extra charges apply. Egyptians pay in Egyptian pounds; under Egyptian law, foreign guests pay in foreign currency.
  • The Honeymoon Offer room requires a marriage certificate issued within the last three months.
  • Day-use passes are not sold (book at least one night), and pets are not allowed.

Getting to Hurghada

Fly into Hurghada International Airport (HRG). Resort transfers are typically 15 to 45 minutes depending on the area. Cairo is the main alternative gateway for longer itineraries.

Best time to visit: Hurghada is sunny almost all year. March–May and September–November balance warm days with a comfortable sea. Winter is mild with cooler evenings. Summer is hot, but the sea is at its warmest.
