Pickalbatros Sea World Resort

Pickalbatros Sea World Resort is a 5-star all-inclusive resort on the Red Sea coast between El Quseir and Marsa Alam, about 60 km from Marsa Alam International Airport. Opened in 2018, it spreads across 380,000 m² with around 950 rooms in low two-storey buildings, so it feels more like a resort village than a tower hotel.

It is built for families: 26 pools, an adults' aqua park and a kids' aqua park, a free kids club for ages 4 to 12 and a 900 m private beach with a long jetty and a coral reef just off the shore. Divers and snorkellers can reach the reef without a boat trip, which is one of the main reasons people choose this stretch of coast.

Rooms and family rooms

Deluxe Rooms (47 m²) come with garden, pool, sea or beach-front views; Junior Suites (60 m²) add a living area; and Family Rooms (70 m²) have two bedrooms joined by a sliding door, with pool-view, swim-up, sea-view and beach-front versions. Every room has a balcony or terrace, air conditioning, a safe, a 50-inch TV and free Wi-Fi, and all are non-smoking. The buildings have two floors and no lifts; six wheelchair-accessible rooms are available on request.

Restaurants and bars

All-inclusive dining runs from arrival to departure across buffet restaurants including East & West, L'Asiatique (Asian), Soprano (Egyptian dishes), Zum Kaiser (German) and Culina, plus food courts and a beach club for snacks, an à la carte option once per stay and a free ice-cream corner. Bars include the 24-hour Lobby Bar, the Red Sky Bar in the evenings, a Sports Café and pool and aqua-park bars. The hotel asks guests to reserve for buffet and à la carte dining.

Pools, aqua parks and the reef

There are 26 pools, some heated in winter, including relaxation pools, whirlpools, an indoor pool and children's pools with slides and water games, plus separate adults' and kids' aqua parks with 27 slides between them. The 900 m private beach has free umbrellas, loungers and towels and a 220 m pontoon; the reef starts just off the shore, so reef shoes are needed. A large diving and water-sports centre (paid) is on site.

Kids club, sports and spa

The free Alba Kids Club (ages 4–12) runs day and evening activities such as painting, baking and garden walks, with a playground, mini disco and free baby cots. Free sports include an indoor gym and open-air beach gym, mini-golf, tennis, beach volleyball, bumper boats and VR games; padel and billiards are paid. The adults-only spa offers a sauna, jacuzzi, massages and a beauty salon at extra cost.

Fly into Marsa Alam International Airport (RMF). Transfers to resorts range from short to over an hour, depending on where the hotel is on the coast. We can arrange the transfer.

Best time to visit: Marsa Alam is sunny almost all year. Spring and autumn are the most comfortable; summer is hot with a very warm sea; winter is mild with cooler evenings.
