Tawila Island Resort

Tawila Island is a 5-star resort on a private island of about 5,000 acres in the Red Sea, roughly 22 km off El Gouna and 36 km from Hurghada. It is the first luxury resort on the island, and you can only get there by boat: a shuttle from Marina Abydos in El Gouna is included with every room booking.

With just 31 bungalows and villas, many of them built over the water with their own pools, the island feels secluded and quiet. Coral reefs, mangroves and white-sand beaches surround it, which makes it a natural choice for couples and families who want snorkelling, diving and real privacy rather than a busy resort.

Bungalows and villas

There are 16 beach bungalows (60 m², sea view and terrace), 7 over-water bungalows (60 m² with a private pool), 7 over-water bungalow suites (80 m² with a living room, private pool, balcony and terrace) and one two-floor presidential villa with three bedrooms, an indoor lift and a private infinity pool. Bungalows and suites sleep up to two adults. Wi-Fi is free throughout.

Dining

Lilac is the seafront restaurant, with a menu built around local fishing culture. The Beach Bar by the pool serves snacks and drinks, and Reeds is a rooftop spot for sunset drinks, fresh juices and stargazing.

Beach, reefs and water sports

The island has soft white-sand beaches and reefs with coral, sea turtles and dolphins nearby. Snorkelling, diving and windsurfing are offered, and there is a swimming pool with a pool bar and a fitness centre.

Spa and families

The wellness centre sits in treatment villas built over the sea, with sauna, steam, massage, a hammam, vitality pools, a warm-water Watsu pool, a yoga area and a beauty salon. Families have a Kids Club with a certified attendant, an indoor games room and an outdoor play area.
